OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly union payroll using Dayforce. This role involves auditing and reconciling timekeeping information, maintaining HR & payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process weekly union payroll for all employees using Dayforce, in accordance with our Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Audit and reconcile timekeeping information accurately.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records relating to schedules, shift rotations, pay policies, work assignments, work locations, etc.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve and reply to all payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations as well as garnishments and union dues.
  • Process special payroll requests such as raises, bonuses, retroactive pay, and adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly payroll reports as well as ad-hoc reporting for management and internal/external audits.
  • Sort and distribute live payroll checks for pick-up by center representatives.
  • Collaboration in the office is an essential job function, for effective communication and cross training.
  • Coordinate with HR on employee status changes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Maintain employee route assignment system of record.
  • Support HR and Operations in educating employees on payroll processes and Dayforce system usage.
  • General office duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a similar payroll role.
  • Experience in the related transportation industry.
  • Experience with payroll ERP systems (Dayforce – preferred).
  • Knowledge of HR processes and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in handling payroll for a large organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/ Word/Outlook skills.
  • Strong Data Entry Skills.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understands, encourages, and carries out the principles of safety management.

Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $50K - $60K
